This email is a reminder that we will start our MDEC program at Harford County District Court on Monday, April 16, 2018. As a result, we are scheduling the DV docket at 9:00 am for Monday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Please make sure your staff is aware of this schedule change. Our bails will remain at 1:30 pm. Our DV docket will return to our normal scheduled time at 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

MSBA – Focus Group Meeting

Monday, April 16, 2018

The MSBA is excited to be hosting a complimentary focus group on the future trends impacting the legal profession. This event is one of a series of focus groups, facilitated by experts at the Business Leadership Institute (BLI). The goal of the workshop is for each participant to walk away with a clearer understanding of the immediate and future challenges and opportunities impacting attorneys, and the profession as a whole; and what we can do to overcome these challenges and leverage the opportunities.

After the workshop enjoy a complimentary reception with heavy appetizers and cocktails from 4:30-6:00. Each attendee will also be entered into a drawing for a free iPad Pro!

LEGAL AID SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

Legal Aid is seeking volunteers to provide pro bono assistance to low income clients living with HIV/Aids at their Ryan White Advance Planning Clinic to be held in Bel Air from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.  Attorneys will be providing assistance with advance directives, power of attorney and simple wills.  The clinic will be held at the Harford County Health Department.  To volunteer or for more information please email Viola Woolums at vwoolums@mdlab.org.

Kenneth R. Feinberg is one of the nation’s leading experts in alternative dispute resolution, having served as Special Master for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, the DOJ U.S. Victims of State-Sponsored Terrorism Fund, the Department of Treasury’s TARP Executive Compensation and MPRA pension reform programs, and the Agent Orange Victim Compensation Program. In 2010, Mr. Feinberg was appointed by the Obama Administration to oversee compensation of victims of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010. Most recently, Mr. Feinberg has served as Administrator of the New York Archdiocese Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program, the OneOrlando Fund, the GM Ignition Switch Compensation Program, and the One Fund Boston Victim Relief Fund.

Space is limited and will be assigned on first registered basis. Early bird registration ends on March 30, 2018 and regular registration will close on April 16, 2018 or when registration reaches the maximum venue numbers, whichever occurs first.
